About Study Intelligence

An experimental, AI-native university. We grant no degrees — on purpose. We measure how the world learns with AI, publish the data openly, and teach the one skill every graduate now needs.

BRIEF.01 // THE_PROBLEM

Why the university needs reinventing

The modern university was designed for the printing press: broadcast the lecture, memorize the text, stamp the degree. Artificial intelligence breaks all three assumptions. A lecture is now the worst way to move information — a good model explains it better, on demand, in any language. Memorization is the cheapest thing a machine does. And the degree — a one-time certificate for a four-year batch process — measures the wrong thing in a world where knowledge has a half-life measured in months.

Meanwhile the institutions themselves are flying half-blind. Our audits found that 92% of the world's top-50 universities publish AI guidance while only 46% of Global South flagships do; that not one of the top 100 bans AI outright; that Central Asian universities teach AI three times faster than they govern it. Nobody was systematically measuring any of this. So we started measuring.

BRIEF.02 // THE_THESIS

The non-degree thesis

We don't issue degrees. On purpose. The diploma is the old product; the new product is the capability itself.

Refusing to grant degrees is the load-bearing design decision. It means there is no credential to inflate, no accreditation theater to perform, and no “diploma mill” attack that lands — there is nothing to buy. What we offer instead is evidence: measurements of the system, open data anyone can audit, and an honest assessment of the skill that matters now.

The skill is not memorization. It is directing machines: prompting precisely, verifying output, knowing where models fail, and learning faster than the models improve. That is what the SI Score measures, and it is the only thing we “teach”.

BRIEF.04 // WHO_WE_ARE

Who operates this

Study Intelligence is an ACLAS research initiative — the AI-native research and data arm of the Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. It is run as an experiment, in public, from first principles. Some of it will be wrong, and when it is, the data will show it — that's the point.

Corrections, challenges and replications are welcome. An index nobody can audit is just marketing; a dataset nobody can reproduce is just a press release. Everything here is built to be checked.
