Global AI Education Readiness Index
The first ranking of how ready the world's universities are for the AI era. Not prestige, not research output — readiness: can the institution teach, govern and provision AI for every student?
What it will measure
Three dimensions, published as separate sub-scores before any composite:
Policy readiness
Does the institution publish clear, findable AI guidance — for students, for teaching staff, for research? Scored from our open audit data: existence, clarity, scope and recency of official policy. This is the dimension we can already measure.
Teaching integration
Is AI part of pedagogy, or just a policy PDF? Evidence from course catalogs, AI-named programs, faculty development offerings and — eventually — our Global AI Learning Survey of how students actually use these tools.
Infrastructure & access
Compute, licensed tools, training and support available to students and faculty — and whether access is equitable or concentrated in a few flagship programs.
First edition
The inaugural index will rank 300+ universities, building on our 187-university policy audit and the U.S. R1 census now in progress. Policy readiness leads; teaching integration and infrastructure follow as the survey data lands.
