Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about what Study Intelligence is, why it grants no degrees, how the data is verified, and how the SI Score works.
What is Study Intelligence?
Study Intelligence is an AI-native, non-degree experimental university. Instead of lecture halls and diplomas, it operates three public instruments: the Global AI Education Readiness Index (a ranking of how ready the world’s universities are for the AI era), the Open Data Commons (free datasets from every audit we run), and the SI Score (a free AI-literacy assessment). The posture is deliberate: we’re prototyping the university of 2030, in public.
Is it a real university? Do you grant degrees?
No — and that is the point. Study Intelligence grants no degrees, issues no diplomas, and sells no tuition. It is an experimental institution: it measures how the world learns with AI, publishes the data openly, and teaches the one skill every graduate now needs — thinking with machines. The non-degree design also means credential-fraud critiques simply don’t apply.
Why deliberately not issue degrees?
Because the diploma is the old product. The modern university was designed for the printing press: broadcast the lecture, memorize the text, stamp the degree. AI breaks all three — a lecture is now the worst way to move information, memorization is the cheapest thing a machine does, and a one-time certificate for a four-year batch process measures the wrong thing in a world where knowledge has a half-life. The new product is the capability itself.
Is your data really free?
Yes. Every dataset is published under CC-BY-4.0: download the CSV or JSON, challenge it, build on it — just cite Study Intelligence (aclas.si). Each dataset ships with its methodology and the exact parsing scripts used to build it, so the work is reproducible, not just downloadable.
How do you verify university AI policies?
A policy only counts if it lives on the university’s own official domain and we opened it. Generic academic-integrity pages that never mention AI don’t count. Searches run in English plus local languages — eleven in the global audit — because universities often publish first in their national language. Every YES row carries its policy URL, page title, and verification date.
What does UNCLEAR or UNVERIFIABLE mean in your data?
It means we could not verify — dead links, portal-gated intranets, crawler-blocked domains, or insufficient evidence either way. It does not mean the policy doesn’t exist. Treat UNCLEAR as “unknown”, never as “no”.
How is the SI Score scored?
The SI Score is an 18-question AI-literacy diagnostic covering six dimensions: prompting effectively, evaluating AI output, hallucinations and limitations, AI ethics and academic integrity, data privacy, and AI in education policy. Each question is worth equal weight; the score is 0–100 with four levels (Emerging, Developing, Proficient, Advanced). Everything runs in your browser — answers never leave your device. It is labeled Beta: a learning instrument, not a credential.
Who runs Study Intelligence?
Study Intelligence is an ACLAS research initiative — operated by the Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as its AI-native research and data arm. Editorial and methodological decisions are published openly; the data speaks for itself.
How is this funded? What’s the business model?
There is nothing for sale here: no tuition, no degrees, no paywalled data, no premium tier. The site is operated as a research initiative. If that ever changes, it will be stated plainly on this page.
Can I correct your data?
Please do. Corrections are part of the design — every dataset page explains its known limitations, and every row can be checked against its source URL. If you find an error, tell us and we’ll fix it publicly.
Will you audit my university or my country?
The audit program is expanding: the 187-university global sample grows toward 300+, and regional deep-dives (like Central Asia) continue on a rolling basis. The methodology is public, so anyone can replicate an audit for their own institution — and we publish the scripts to make that easy.
Do you sell courses or certificates?
No. Study Intelligence teaches exactly one free thing — AI literacy, via the SI Score diagnostic — and sells nothing. Courses and credentials are what the rest of the education industry does; measurement is what we do.
Can I use your datasets in commercial products?
Yes. CC-BY-4.0 permits commercial use, adaptation and redistribution, provided you give appropriate credit to Study Intelligence (aclas.si) and indicate if you modified the data.
